Earlier, Bipasha Basu, who  posed in sensuous clothes for a bold poster of RAAZ 3, said she had no reason to hire a body double for the shoot as she is comfortable with her toned body.

"I have always been comfortable in my skin and never been conscious of my body," Bipasha said in a press statement.

TV actor Manish Paul turns con man for debut movie!

NEW DELHI: If TV host Ayushmann Khurrana played sperm donor Vicky, Manish Paul is set to play Punjabi computer geek Mickey in his debut film "Oye Mickey".

First time director Saurabh Varma will wield the megaphone for the movie.

"Every actor wants to gradually go on to the big screen. I had met many filmmakers before but when Saurabh narrated the script to me, everything fell in place. The film has drama, action and comic element too," Manish, who is currently co-hosting dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa", said in a statement.

"I would still not leave television completely and work things out between television and films," he added.

Manish has previously acted in television serials like "Ghost Bana Dost", "Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi" and "Pyaar Mein Twist".

Set in Delhi, "Oye Mickey" is a comic thriller which revolves around the life of a Punjabi computer geek Mickey (played by Manish) who plans a con of a lifetime. The other cast members are yet to be finalised.

Varma, who has also written the film, said he has been auditioning for about six months and when someone suggested Manish, "I realised I have got my Micky".

"He has perfect comic timing and a very innocent face required for the character of a typical Delhi boy. I am glad to have found Manish for this character... we couldn't have found anyone more appropriate than him," added the filmmaker.

ਮੁੰਬਈ 19 ਜੁਲਾਈ :  ਹਿੰਦੀ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ  ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸੁਪਰ ਸਟਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਰੋਮਾਂਟਿਕ ਹੀਰੋ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ ਅੱਜ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ 11 ਵਜੇ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ । ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਮੀ ਬੀਮਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ 69 ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਅਸ਼ੀਰਵਾਦ  ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਸਾਂਹ ਲਿਆ ।  ਆਖਰੀ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ  ਦੇ  ਕੋਲ ਪਤਨੀ ਡਿੰਪਲ ,  ਦੋਨਾਂ ਬੇਟੀਆਂ ਟਵਿੰਕਲ ,  ਰਿੰਕੀ  ਦੇ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਜੁਆਈ ਅਕਸ਼ੈ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ ।

ਬਾਲੀਵੁਡ  ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸੁਪਰ ਸਟਾਰ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨਾ ਦਾ ਜਾਦੂ 70 - 80 ਵਿੱਚ ਸਿਨੇਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ  ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਚਡ਼੍ਹ ਕਰ ਬੋਲਿਆ ।  ਖਾਸ ਤੌਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਡ਼ਕੀਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਬਰਦਸਤ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਕ ਰਹੀਆ ।  ਕਾਕਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਦਹਾਕੇ ਤੱਕ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ ।  ਇੱਕ  ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਇੱਕ ਕਈ ਸੁਪਰਹਿਟ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਝੋਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਰਜ ਹੋਈਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੋਕਪ੍ਰਿਅਤਾ ਨੇ ਨਵਾਂ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਬਣਾਇਆ ।  ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਵੱਖ ਹੀ ਅੰਦਾਜ ਰਿਹਾ ।  ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੇਮਿਸਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਲ ਅਦਾਕਾਰੀ  ਦੇ ਦਮ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ  ਦੇ ਦਿੱਗਜ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ।  ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਿਤਾਭ ਬੱਚਨ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਨੇਮੇ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਸੁਪਰਸਟਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਾਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਬਣੇ । 

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਹੈ ,  ਉਸ ਦਾ ਅਸਲੀ ਨਾਮ ਸੀ ਜਤਿਨ ਖੰਨਾ  ।  29 ਦਿਸੰਬਰ ,  1942 ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ  ਦੇ ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮੇ ਜਤਿਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਪਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਅਭਿਨੈ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਸੀ ।  ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ  ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਰਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ । ਪਰ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀ ਸੁਣੀ ।  ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਮਰਜੀ  ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਅਭਿਨੈ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੈਰਿਅਰ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਠਾਨ ਲਈ ।  1960 ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਚਲੇ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਘਰਸ਼ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ।  1965 ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੰਬਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੁਨਾਇਟੇਡ ਪ੍ਰੋਡਿਊਸਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਲਮਫੇਅਰ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਟੈਲੇਂਟ ਹੰਟ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ।  ਜਤਿਨ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਦਸ ਹਜਾਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ।  ਇਸਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਲ ਮਿਲਣ ਲੱਗੇ ।  1966 ਵਿੱਚ 24 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ਼ਿਰਕਾਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਦਾਕਾਰੀ ਵਿਖਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲ ਹੀ ਗਿਆ ।  ਫਿਲਮ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੀ " ਆਖਰੀ ਖਤ"  ।  ਇਸ ਫਿਲਮ  ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੱਝ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਕੰਮ ਮਿਲਿਆ ।  ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ " ਬਹਾਰਾਂ  ਦੇ ਸਪਨੇ"  ਅਤੇ " ਔਰਤ " ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ ।  ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਨੁੰ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਮਿਲਣ ਲੱਗੀਆ ਸਨ , ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਫਿਲਮ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ । ਪਰ ਇੰਨਾ ਜਰੂਰ ਸੀ, ਕਿ ਜਤਿਨ ਖੰਨਾ ਹੁਣ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਾ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨਾ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਸਨ ।

ਅਭਿਨੈ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨਾ ਦੀ ਅਰਾਧਨਾ ਰੰਗ ਲਿਆਈ ।  1969 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਫਿਲਮ " ਅਰਾਧਨਾ "ਨੇ ਜਬਰਦਸਤ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ।  ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨਾ ਹੁਣ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਨੇਮੇ ਦੇ ਚਮਕਦੇ ਸਟਾਰ ਬੰਨ ਗਏ ।  ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੋਲੀ ਸੂਰਤ , ਦਿਲਕਸ਼ ਅੰਦਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਡਾਇਲਾਗ ਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਖ ਅੰਦਾਜ ,  ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਸੰਦ ਆਇਆ ।  ਉਹ ਜਵਾਨ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਡ਼ਕਨ ਬਣ ਗਏ ।  ਲਡ਼ਕੀਆ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਜੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਰ ਮਿਟਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਸਨ ।  ਦੇਵਾਨੰਦ  ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਲਡ਼ਕੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੇਕਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਇੰਨਾ ਜਬਰਦਸਤ ਰੋਮਾਚ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਸਨ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨਾ ।  ਅਰਾਧਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਰਮੀਲਾ ਟੈਗੋਰ  ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜੋਡ਼ੀ ਹਿਟ ਹੋਈ । 

ਅਰਾਧਨਾ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਕਾਮਯਾਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨ ਲਉ ਖੰਭ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ ।  ਇਸ ਫਿਲਮ  ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਗਲੇ ਚਾਰ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਰ ਸਟਾਰ  ਦੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ ।  ਇਸ ਚਾਰ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ 15 ਸਫਲ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਆਈਆਂ ।  ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਨੇਮੇ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਸੀਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ।  ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਜਿਸ ਸਰਲਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਵੇਦਨਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ  ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਭਿਨੈ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ,  ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਮਿਸਾਲ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਾ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ।  ਆਨੰਦ ਫਿਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਨੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲਈ ਅਮਰ ਬਣਾ ਗਿਆ । 

ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ 1970 ਵਿੱਚ "ਸੱਚਾ - ਝੂਠਾ" ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਫਿਲਮਫੇਅਰ ਐਵਾਰਡ ਮਿਲਿਆ ।  1971 ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸਾਲ ਰਿਹਾ ,  ਜੋ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਿਨੇਮਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੀਲ ਦਾ ਪੱਥਰ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਇਆ ।  ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ  ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਇੱਕ ਛੇ ਸੁਪਰਹਿਟ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ।  ਕਟੀ ਪਤੰਗ ,  ਆਨੰਦ ,  ਆਨ ਮਿਲੋ ਸੱਜਣਾ ,  ਮਹਿਬੂਬ ਦੀ ਮਹਿੰਦੀ ,  ਹਾਥੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਾਜ ।  ਇਸਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵੀ ਸਫਲ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਿਹਾ ।  ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਰਸਤੇ ,  ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ,  ਬਾਵਰਚੀ ,  ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਸਾਥੀ ,  ਜੋਰੂ ਦਾ ਗੁਲਾਮ ,  ਅਨੁਰਾਗ ,  ਦਾਗ ,  ਨਮਕ ਹਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਹਮਸ਼ਕਲ ਵਰਗੀ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ ।  ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ਅਭਿਨੈ ਲਈ 1971 ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਸਰਵ ਉੱਤਮ ਅਭਿਨੇਤਾ ਦਾ ਫਿਲਮਫੇਅਰ ਐਵਾਰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ।2005 ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਲਮਫੇਅਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਇਫਟਾਇਮ ਅਚੀਵਮੇਂਟ ਐਵਾਰਡ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ । 
ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਜੋਡ਼ੀ ਸ਼ਰਮੀਲਾ ਟੈਗੋਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਮਤਾਜ  ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਪਰਹਿਟ ਰਹੀ ।  ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਿਲਾ  ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਰਾਧਨਾ ,  ਸਫਰ ,  ਬਦਨਾਮ ਫਰਿਸ਼ਤੇ ,  ਛੋਟੀ ਬਹੂ ,  ਅਮਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ,  ਰਾਜਾ - ਰਾਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਵਿਸ਼ਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ।  ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਸਫਲ ਰਹੀਆ ।  ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਮੁਮਤਾਜ  ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਰਸਤੇ ,  ਬੰਧਨ ,  ਸੱਚਾ - ਝੂਠਾ ,  ਦੁਸ਼ਮਨ ,  ਆਪਣਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ,  ਆਪਕੀ ਕਸਮ ,  ਰੋਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋਡ਼ੀ ਬਣਾਈ ,  ਜੋ ਕਾਮਯਾਬ ਰਹੀ । 

ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਲਮ  ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾਈ ।  ਸੰਗੀਤਕਾਰ ਆਰ ਡੀ ਬਰਮਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਧਿਕਤਰ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਦਿੱਤਾ ।  ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਵਾਜ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿਸ਼ੋਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ।  ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਲੱਗਭੱਗ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਾਣੇ ਕਿਸ਼ੋਰ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਗਾਏ ।  ਇਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਵਧਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਦਾਬਹਾਰ ਗਾਨਣੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹਨ ।  

80  ਦੇ ਦਹਾਕੇ  ਦੇ ਅੰਤ  ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਹੋਇਆ । ਜੰਜੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੋਲੇ ਵਰਗੀ ਐਕਸ਼ਨ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਿਤਾਭ ਬੱਚਨ  ਦੇ ਅਭਿਨੈ ਨੇ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਖੰਨਾ ਦੀ ਸਫਲਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਲਿਆ ।  ਲੋਕ ਐਕਸ਼ਨ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਅਤੇ 1975  ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਕਈ ਰੋਮਾਟਿਕ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਅਸਫਲ ਰਹੀ ।  ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਕਈ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਠੁਕਰਾ ਦਿੱਤੀਆ ,  ਜੋ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮਿਤਾਭ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀਆ ।  ਇਹੀ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਅਮਿਤਾਭ  ਦੇ ਸੁਪਰਸਟਾਰ ਬਣਨ ਲਈ ਸਹਾਈ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਈ ।  ਇਹੀ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼  ਦੇ ਪਤਨ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣਿਆ ।  1994 ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੂਜੀ ਪਾਰੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ । ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ" ਵਫਾ" ਫਿਲਮ ਸਿਨੇਮਾਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈ ।  ਪਿਛਲੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਟੀਵੀ ਇਸ਼ਤਿਹਾਰ ਵੀ ਆਇਆ ।  ਪੱਖਾਂ  ( ਫੈਨ )   ਦੇ ਇਸ ਇਸ਼ਤਿਹਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੈ ,  ਮੇਰੇ ਫੈਨ ਕਦੇ ਘੱਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੇ .  .  ।

ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੱਥ ਅਜਮਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ 1991 ਵਲੋਂ 1996 ਵਿੱਚ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ  ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਸੰਸਦ ਰਹੇ ।  ਰਾਜੀਵ ਗਾਂਧੀ  ਦੇ ਕਹਿਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜੇਸ਼ ਨੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦੀ ਟਿਕਟ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੋਣ ਲਡ਼ਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਤੇ । ਪਰ ਕੁੱਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ।

The Peoples’ Party of Punjab candidate, Bhupinder Singh Ghuman remained a distant third and lost his security deposit.   Sahi was polled 77,494 votes while Mickey Dogra was polled 30,063 votes. PPP Candidate Ghuman was polled 5,149 votes.   Nevertheless the BJP victory in the by-election was expected however the huge victory margin came as a bit surprise. The by-election had been necessitated by the death of the sitting BJP candidate and the Chief Parliamentary Secretary Amarjit Singh Sahi. The BJP fielded his wife Sukhjeet Kaur who won by a hugely comfortable margin.   While the victory may not have come as a surprise to the Congress, but the margin of defeat must have certainly come as a great shock. This is supposed to be a traditionally Congress belt and the party was not expected to fair that badly.   The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh had personally taken much interest about the by-election and spent three days for campaigning. He was scheduled to spend more but had to take off sometime because of the death of his aunt Ms Nagindra Khanna, the mother of PCC general secretary Arvind Khanna.   Capt Amarinder had ensured the return of Mukerian MLA Rajneesh Bubby to the party fold before the Dasuya by-election as the constituency had about 25000 votes belonging to the Chang community which mostly goes with Rajneesh Bubby’s family. Bubby is the son of Congress veteran late Dr Kewal Krishen who belonged to the same community.   The Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal also spent considerable time in Dasuya during the campaigning. At one stage it looked more of an Akali than the BJP campaign as the BJP leaders campaigning in the area were overshadowed by the presence of two Badals and Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia, another important leader of the SAD and the ruling family.   Most of all the main person responsible for such a humiliating defeat is the Congress candidate Arun Dogra himself who virtually took no interest in the campaigning. He had taken defeat for granted as was noted and felt by the Congress leadership which went for campaigning in the area.   His miserably poor performance should make the party give a serious thought of grooming alternative leadership so that the candidate who is fielded next time in 2017 is well entrenched in the area and has a will and determination to win.

ਡਾਕ‍ਟਰ ਆਰ  ਕੇ ਅੱਗਰਵਾਲ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਾਰਡਯੋ ਰੇਸਪਿਟਰੀ ਅਰੇਸ‍ਟ  ਦੇ ਚਲਦੇ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ  ਦਾ ਨਿਧਨ ਹੋਇਆ । ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ   ਦੇ ਬੇਟੇ ਵਿੰਦੁ ਦਾਰਾ ਸਿੰਘ  ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਖਬਰ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ।   
84 ਸਾਲ  ਦੇ ਦਾਰੇ ਸਿੰਘ  ਨੂੰ ਸੱਤ ਜੁਲਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਕਿਲਾਬੇਨ ਹਸਪਤਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਰਤੀ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ।  ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ ।  ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਡਾਕ‍ਟਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਂਨ‍੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰੇਨ ਹੇਮਰੇਜ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਵਾਈ ਜਾਂ ਇਲਾਜ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ  ਦੇ  ਠੀਕ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਉਂ‍ਮੀਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ।  ਤੱਦ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਰਾਤ 10 . 30 ਵਜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।

Wrestler-actor Dara Singh dead

MUMBAI: Former wrestling champion and actor Dara Singh died at his home here Thursday morning following a brief illness, doctors treating him said. He was 84.

"Dara Singh passed away peacefully at 7.30 a.m. this (Thursday) morning," said Ram Narain, COO, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, where the actor was being treated before he was shifted to his Juhu home late Wednesday.

"Angel now gone to shine like a star up above," the actor's son, Vindu Dara Singh, texted after his father's death.

Dara Singh had been undergoing dialysis at the hospital.

It was his family's wish that he should be home in the last stages of his life, a hospital official had said Wednesday.

He is survived by his wife and six children - three sons and three daughters. One of his sons, Vindu Dara Singh, is a known name in showbiz.

The veteran actor was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital Saturday by his family members following a cardiac problem. He had been in a critical condition since then. Two days later, he was put on dialysis after his kidneys stopped functioning.

Dara Singh, who had won the title of "Rustam-e-Hind" for his wrestling prowess, appeared in various films and TV serials.

He is best known for his portrayal of Hanuman in Ramanand Sagar's "Ramayan" and in B.R. Chopra's "Mahabharat".

He had appeared in films like "Watan Se Door", "Daada", "Rustom-E-Baghdad", "Sher Dil", "Sikandar E Azam", "Raaka", "Mera Naam Joker" and "Dharam Karam". He was last seen in the 2007 release "Jab We Met".
